But the myth is perpetuated throughout life, perhaps now more than ever with happy status updates on Facebook and blushing bride/happy multi-tasking mommy blog posts. What these success stories don’t tell you is what is going on behind closed doors. They don’t tell you that your friend who is so over the moon with her new baby had to apply for food stamps. They don’t tell you that your fantastic, involved professor struggles with depression. They don’t tell you that your happily married friend still has nightmares about her abusive ex. They don’t tell you the cousin who just got that jealousy-inducing job opportunity is thinking of breaking up with his boyfriend of 10 years. What closely interacting with people from all backgrounds on the Internet for over a decade has taught me is that no one “has it together” in the way we think they do. So stop trying to have that as your goal, because you are just setting yourself up for massive failure.

zeekayart: A Heads Up For Anyone Buying from the Comic Market
As an artist, I’d like to post this up before anyone asks this. I know people will ask for these couple of things, but I thought it might be a good idea to post this up because hopefully some people on Tumblr will read it and be able to alert others.
No artists can sell anything pertaining to The Avengers.
The Avengers are under Marvel, therefore under Disney. Our contracts state we cannot sell Disney, Studio Ghibli, Marvel or REBOOT. I don’t want to burst any ones bubble, but people should know this so they don’t get their hopes up and don’t get artists in major trouble. Don’t push artists to do under the table commissions either.
I’m not trying to get anyone in trouble, but a heads up for Homestuck. Without permission from Andrew Hussie, artists may only take commissions of his work.
Hussie states in his Sales FAQ that artists may only take commissions for they’re a one time transaction. And from what I’ve heard, I’ve heard artists at cons get in big trouble for selling premade merchandise without permission.
These little heads up are really just warnings for both Artists and Patrons of the Comic Market. Nothing to make anyone upset, just so neither the patrons nor artists get themselves in trouble with anyone!
